Giants safety Jason Pinnock was carted off the field in the second half of Sunday’s wildcard win over the Vikings after sustaining an injury on a kickoff return at US Bank Stadium in Minnesota.
Pinnock, a sophomore pro, appeared to take a punch in the middle in a tackle. He sat up straight while being carted off the field. Head coach Brian Daboll and “the rest of the defense was out there like him [Pinnock] went on the cart” per The Athletic.

He was ruled out for the rest of the game. Daboll told reporters after the game Pinnock was at a local hospital with an abdominal injury.
Pinnock was originally drafted in the fifth round by the Jets in 2021. He was waived in August 2022 and released from waivers by the Giants shortly thereafter.
The Giants beat the Vikings 31-24 and will face the top-ranked Eagles in the divisional round next weekend in Philadelphia.
