Has Aaron Donald retired?

The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year seemed to be updating himself his Twitter bio on Sunday afternoon during Super Wild Card Weekend, suggesting he was no longer a Los Angeles Ram.

Minutes later, he quickly updated the bio again, back to what it was before.

There were rumors of Donald, 31, retiring before last season, which would have happened after last year’s Super Bowl win with the Rams.

Donald was a Pro Bowler for all nine seasons of his NFL career.

He even reportedly mailed in his retirement papers before agreeing to a massive $95 million salary increase over three seasons – the first of which wrapped last week. He was originally planned to earn $55 million over three years. The deal made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport.

The Rams have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season at 5-12. Donald had five sacks in 11 games played.
